Seminar Internasional: The Dynamics & New Trends of American Politics and Foreign Policy

Malang, 28 Maret 2018 – Laboratorium Hubungan Internasional Universitas Brawijaya melaksanakan seminar intenasional dengan tema utama “The Dynamics and The New Trend of America Politics and Foreign Policy”. Seminar dilaksanakan di Auditorium Nuswantara FISIP UB dan dimulai pada pukul 09.00 WIB hingga 12.00  WIB. Laboratorium HI UB mengundang sejumlah pembicara ahli di bidang perpolitikan Amerika Serikat yaitu Prof. Larry Hubbel dari Universitas Seattle, Dr. Andrew Garner dari Universitas Wyoming serta Aswin Azis Ariyanto S.IP., M.A.

Seminar mengangkat tiga sesi yang kemudian membahas baik isu kebijakan luar negeri Amerika Serikat, dinamika politik domestik hingga isu hubungan internasional terkait Amerika Serikat dan Cina. Sesi pertama mengenai United State Foreign Policy Under Trump Regime yang disampaikan oleh Prof Larry Hubbel dan menjelaskan mengenai kebijakan-kebijakan luar negeri dan alasan diambilnya kebijakan tersebut dalam kepemimpinan Donald Trump. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan sesi kedua mengenai  The Changing and the dynamics of United State of America Domestic Policies yang disampaikan oleh Dr. Andrew Garner dan membahas mengenai kondisi perpolitikan domestic Amerika Serikat dibawah pemerintahan Donald Trump, skandal yang saat ini terjadi dan bagaimana prediksi keberlanjutan kepemimpinan Donald Trump. Materi terakhir dalam sesi ketiga yang disampaikan oleh Aswin Azis Ariyanto S.IP., M.A mengenai Competing Influence between United State and China in Asia yang menjelaskan dampak mundurnya kebijakan luar negeri Amerika Serikat di Asia terhadap tumbuhnya pengaruh Cina di Asia.

Seminar ini berhasil menuai antusiasme dari peserta, dengan jumlah peserta yang hadir 100 orang. Antusiasme peserta terlihat dari ketertarikan peserta dalam sesi diskusi yang kemudian menimbulkan diskusi lebih lanjut terkait dinamika perpolitikkan Amerika Serikat serta kondisi geopolitik yang hadir dibawah kepemimpinan Presiden Donald Trump.

Malang, 28th March 2018 – International Relations Laboratory of Brawijaya University held an international seminar with the main theme of “The Dynamics and The New Trends of America Politics and Foreign Policy”. The seminar was held in Auditorium Nuswantara, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Brawijaya University from 9 AM to 12 AM. IR Laboratory invited multiple speakers and experts in United States politics, including Prof. Larry Hubbel from University of Seattle, Dr. Andrew Garner from University of Wyoming, and Aswin Aziz Ariyanto S.IP., M.A. from Brawijaya University.

The seminar kicked off with three sessions, which covered topics from US foreign policy issues, its domestic politics dynamics, to international relations issue related to US and China. The first session, with the topic of ‘United States Foreign Policy Under Trump Regime’, was delivered by Prof. Larry Hubbel. He explained about US foreign policies and the factors that influence those policies under Donald Trump’s presidency. The second session about ‘The Changing and the Dynamics of United State of America Domestic Policies’ was delivered by Dr. Andrew Garner and discussed US domestic politics condition under Donald Trump’s presidency, the current scandal and the prediction of Donald Trump’s leadership in the country. The last session, which was delivered by Aswin Azis Ariyanto S. IP., M.A. covered the topic of ‘Competing Influence between United State and China in Asia’ and the impact of US decreasing influence in Asia to the increase of China’s influence in the region.

The seminar was successful to gain enthusiasm from the participants, with the total of 100 attendees. Enthusiasm was clearly shown from the participants’ interest during discussion session which was followed by further discussion about the dynamics of US politics and geopolitics condition under the leadership of Donald Trump.
